Feel at home in the studio…
The True Vine is a world class audio production home studio run by myself, Adam Casey, out of Doncaster, Melbourne, Australia. I have independently run The True Vine since 2012 with over 100 productions.
I do everything from recording, mixing and mastering albums/EPs/singles, to audio restoration (from cassettes/reels/DAT/you name it), to sound design for theatre, to composing film and game scores (click here to see my portfolio).
I operate out of a professionally treated control room with Trinnov room correction (a flat linear listening environment is vital to ‘getting it right’ from start to finish) which boasts an exciting array of carefully curated vintage analogue outboard gear. We also have a lovely open live room with wooden floors throughout where we do the majority of our tracking which houses a stunning array of instruments, from a 300 year old German upright piano, a 19th Century Estey pump organ and 19th century Parsons brass bowl 28” timpani drum + much more (see our gear list).
I love working here and other artists do too, largely due to the easy, homely vibe, and the light filled, floorboarded house I’ve recorded everything from 6-piece bands (with horn section in tow!) live in the studio, to, intimate singer songwriters, experimental electronic artists, small classical chamber ensembles, even large choirs. Recording an album should be a special experience you always remember, and The True Vine is a home away from home, a second family, for many artists from around the world who have laid their music down here.
I focus on working with artists whose music I connect with. I’m at my best working as a creative producer building up (or breaking down) textures, helping with arrangements and developing song writing craft. I love to capture spontaneous moments, mistakes (and sometimes extend them) and I love getting the most out of my mixes and your instruments.
The studio rates are affordable (please see the studio’s rates page). If you’re interested in working with me, please send through samples of what you do, detail the vision you have for the recording you wish to make and, if I see it will work, I’ll organise a walk through the studio. Thanks for dropping by!
